New Robotic Line Automates IHT Processes

In late 2019, IHT seized an opportunity to purchase two Fanuc multi-axis robots. Our goal, driven by a core value to pursue continuous improvement, is to automate processes so that operators can be more productive and have more time to scrutinize quality. After considering outsourcing the first project, we realized that we had all the skills needed to tackle the installation of the robotic line internally. In March, we assembled a team consisting of people proficient in robot programming, control logic, and conveyor mechanics. They were able to complete a working prototype by July and were in production in August.
