Induction Heat Treating was founded by Omer Haimbaugh in 1946 in Chicago, IL. A small start in a rented building provided our modest beginning. In 1950 Omer purchased a building on Thomas Street in Chicago, where he expanded the company’s capabilities and customer base. In 1963 IHT moved to its Norwood Park location where it continued to grow. In 1990 IHT found it necessary to expand once again and move to Crystal Lake, Illinois, where it built a modern 35,000 square foot facility. This is still our home today.
Just as we have found it necessary to grow into new facilities through the years, we have also found it necessary to expand our staff, hours and equipment. We currently have over 60 employees, working five days each week with three shifts per day. We have expanded our equipment line in order to accommodate the demands of our customers as well as add to our capabilities and value added services.
